REQUIREMENTS FOR AMERICAN COURSE AT GITIS

For All GITIS Applicants
All applicants are required to submit a headshot, resume, and letter of recommendation along with a one to two page informal essay written in a letter style. This letter should describe who you are as an artist and, most importantly, as a person. Consider including your interests, your talents, your passions, your fears, or anything that you feel is essential to your unique personality. Also include some information about why you do theatre, why you study theatre, what draws you to this program and what you would like to gain from it. We ask that you also submit some photos from your daily life – you with family, with pets, in a special place, with friends– anything that describes you.
We may request additional information through an interview.
For Directing Students
In addition to the above requirements, you may submit any director’s notes, explanations and/or sketches from any one play (no more than 6 pages) available.
For Design Students
You may also submit renderings of any past design work (maximum 3 shows) and any design notes or explanations of each (maximum 6 pages total).
For Acting Students
Please submit a video recoding of yourself performing two contrasting monologues (one classical, one contemporary and of different genres) no more than two minutes in length each and a headshot along with the materials required of all applicants.

Tuition and Room for 11 weeks: $6,800
Airfare and visa: $1,000
Administrative Fee and Cultural Programs: $700
Total Program Cost*: $8,500

ADMISSION
Upon review and acceptance of your submissions you will receive notification of your acceptance to the program from IFTER. We will notify you of our decision whatever the outcome. We reserve the right to ask for additional information. After you accept admission you will receive an official acceptance letter. Your non-refundable administrative fee will be due at this time to reserve your spot in the program.
